For those who proudly wear the Maltese Cross – a symbol of firefighters everywhere and the ideals that guide them – firefighting is more than a profession, it is a calling. Firefighters have a deep-seated sense of service that allows them to put themselves in harm's way in the interest of others. It's a profession that tests mettle and might, for these bearers of the Maltese Cross go where others don't dare –deep into the heart of danger.
